Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Diploy, including our website at diploy.io and our platform at app.diploy.io ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

2. Description of Services

Diploy provides free career exploration tools for California Career Technical Education (CTE) students, educators, and employers. Our services include:

  • Career Metrics — Interactive dashboards displaying wage and employment data across California counties and trade specialties.
  • School Search — A searchable directory of California community colleges and their CTE programs.
  • Career Navigator — A career interest assessment survey that matches users to relevant CTE career pathways.
  • Resume Builder — An AI-assisted tool that helps users create, edit, and download professional resumes. Features include Quick Start generation from a career summary or voice recording, resume upload and parsing, AI-powered critique and scoring, job description matching, and PDF export.

Career Metrics, School Search, and Career Navigator each include an AI-powered chat assistant to help users explore the data. The Resume Builder includes its own set of AI-powered features described above.

Diploy also offers a free account-based platform at app.diploy.io with additional career readiness features. These features require a free account.

3. Eligibility

Diploy is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. By using our services, you represent that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, we encourage you to use Diploy with the guidance of a parent, guardian, or educator. By creating an account, you additionally represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it current.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the site or its data.
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the site's operation.
  • Misuse the AI chat features, including submitting harmful, abusive, or misleading content.
  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
  • Upload files that contain malware, viruses, or content unrelated to resume building.
  • Circumvent rate limits on AI features or PDF generation.
  • Create multiple accounts or misrepresent your identity or role.
  • Submit false or misleading information through platform features.
  • Share or distribute other users' personal information without their consent.

5. AI-Powered Features

Our AI features — including chat assistants, Resume Builder Quick Start, resume upload parsing, AI Critique, Job Match analysis, and voice transcription — are powered by OpenAI. AI-generated content, including resume text, scores, and feedback, is provided as a starting point and should not be treated as professional career, financial, or educational advice. You are responsible for reviewing and editing all AI-generated resume content before using it. Please do not include sensitive personal information (such as Social Security numbers, financial details, or medical information) in any text submitted to AI features. Certain AI features may be subject to usage limits. AI-generated content should be reviewed for accuracy before sharing.

6. Data Sources & Accuracy

Diploy uses publicly available data from the following sources:

  • California Employment Development Department (EDD) — wage and employment data
  • California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office (CCCCO) — college and program data
  • O*NET (U.S. Department of Labor) — career interest assessment and occupational data

This data is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that the data is complete, current, or error-free. Diploy is not a substitute for professional career counseling.

7. Intellectual Property

The Diploy website, including its design, code, and original content, is owned by Diploy. The underlying public datasets used by our tools remain in the public domain or are subject to their respective licenses. You retain ownership of all content you create on the platform. By making your profile public, you grant Diploy a limited license to display your content to visitors of your shared profile link.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Diploy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the site, including any decisions made based on information provided by our tools or AI features. This includes, without limitation, any inaccuracies in AI-generated resume content, missed job opportunities, consequences arising from the use of resumes created with our tools, or consequences arising from interactions between users or decisions made based on information displayed on user profiles.

9. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or misuse the platform. You may deactivate your account at any time through your profile settings.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Diploy shall be resolved in the courts located in the State of California.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Diploy after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
